Swim Team

Bring on Summer.

The kids have completed pre-season after-school practices and the official season started yesterday. There are 100 kids signed up this year. Our club combined with another for swim team purposes and we have so many kids there are two practices. So every morning I am sitting around the pool from 8:45 to 11:00. Big chunk of time... but there are worse ways to spend big chunks of time.

Here Coach Damon talks to the team and gets them to stretch a little before workout.

Bobby and Ally having lunch after practice.

I took these pictures of Bobby and Ally the other day and converted them to black and white... they look so grown up!

Tonight we are having my high school Headmaster and some other people over for a reception. Even though Westminster School is located in Connecticut, there are a lot of alumni and future students that live out here (it's a boarding school). Some of the guests tonight were actually there when I was, so it will be cool to see some of my old classmates. I'll post pictures and stories later.

Bobby's black & white looks like a magazine add for kid's clothing!

Ah swim team. I sort of miss having to spend 1/2 of Saturday at a swim meet. It beat the heck out of doing laundry and it was very sociable. These days it would have to beat the heck out of a long bike ride so it might not work out as well. Swim meets are fun, though!

I wish someone would bring *me* lunch after swim practice. Oh, to be a kid again...

Nice photos. I like the B/W versions. :)

good that the kids are getting swim training now... Maybe if I did that when I was a kid, i wouldn't be struggling so much in the swim.

I remember our pool mornings, drop off for 8am practice, pick up at noon- those were fun days! Of course until I was 12 we weren't dropped off and left on our own. Glad they're enjoying the swimming.

Those pictures are great.
