Monster Dash!

Hundreds turned out for the annual Team Ortho Monster Dash around Lake Harriet yesterday. We dressed up as runaway patients. Here are Ally and Bobby waiting for the start.

And here are Bobby and I running and handing out candy..

... the view as we ran by...

... Flash...

This guy is a baby in a high chair... how clever!

There were also some people paddling a canoe, three blind mice walking a seeing-eye dog, etc. I love these kinds of events.

Bob pushed Ally in the burley which she didn't once get out of. Oy.
But Bobby did great! We finished the 5k in a net time of 35 minutes, which I think is great for a 9-year-old! this was his first chip-timed event and now he wants to try to beat his time at the Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving. woo-hoooo! go Bobby!

Looks like a lot of fun! Way to go Bobby! :) And way to ride it out Ally! I love running around Lake Harriet. It's one of my favorite places up by you! I think we're going to be in the Twin Cities for Thanksgiving. I'll let you know. Keep having fun all of you!

The runaway patient idea was brilliant.

Did you see hairless Steve's outfit?

It was great to see you and meet Bob and Bobby, no matter how short of a meeting it was (sorry).

Everybody is going to be at the Turkey Trot. We should all try to meet.

And thus a runner is born. And then it's the bike. And he already swims. The writing is on the wall for that boy!

I love the runaway patients outfit - hysterical.

I kinda threw it out there to Superpounce that your 9 year old ran 3 miles with you, and she took the bait.

"I can run THREE MILES," (sniff of disgust).

Bit by bit, I'm reeling her in.

Jenny,

Great pics...ahha i love the costumes.

I read your previous post about IM limit on one family member at the finish line. I was chuckling at the part where they talk about no animals are allow. I wonder who would hold their cat/dog/hamster/bird/snake/lizard/frog in the finish line :)
