... 45 degrees, wind chill of about 40. This is as close as I got to the lake for my 1 hour swim. Jeff swam by himself, and I sat in the car and watched. Although if he were in any kind of trouble, I am still not sure if I would have gone in. I have my limits. ;-)
Fortunately I had my bike and we rode for 55 miles. It was a MN Tri Club ride and over 100 people showed up. They provided boxes upon boxes of Gel, candy bars, Clif bars, Gatorade, Fig Newtons, NutterButters... the WORKS. I can't wait to get invited on another one of their rides.
Glad to see some interest in the Jan 13th Rock-n-Roll marathon. We don't all have to stay together for the race - but we will all hang out before and after... Come on 21stCenturyMom - reconsider!

wetsuit and goggles on...that's gotta count for something, even if you wouldn't get into the lake...
I guess you call that car swimming, right?
Well... I'm thinking. I do love the Rock n' Roll marathons because I need the tunes! But training for a January marathon? That means running in the rain. I haven't ruled it out yet, okay??
I have never previously considered driving to the lake in my wetsuit but I guess that could save some transition time.
Soooo do you go pee in your wetsuit in the car too?? LOL..:-))
Have been following your blog for a little while now, and finally got on board in the blog world. I know it was cold here in Wisconsin, so I give you a high five for even attempting to swim. I bet you were toasty in the wetsuit in the car. The Rock n' Roll marathon sounds tempting...I haven't done a marathon in Arizona. HMMMMMMMMMMM
I'm in Jenny
hi there Twin Cities neighbor! Thanks for visiting me... I've been lurking round your parts for some time, in awe of your training and racing, wondering how you can be so smiley during it all. Thanks for the inspiration!
Ugh, I'm not attempting an open water swim for another three weeks...
I don't blame you for not getting out...
Please tell me that you did not drive over wearing that. :-)
Of course I did not drive over wearing that!
I actually put it on, walked all the way to the shore, thought about it for about 15 minutes, watched Jeff get in and swim away until he was but a speck, and then went back to the car.
Just so you all don't think I'm the ONLY wimpy Minnesotan, Terri didn't get in either and she took this picture!
