Trail Mix

Yesterday was the 25K Trail Mix - it was a beautiful day, even though the two-loop course had us twice running up the back side and down the front side of the ski jump... you really only want to ever do that once, if you know what I mean. Have you ever seen the event in the Olympics called ski jumping? Well, we have one right here in the Minneapolis suburbs. It's steep. It's where the Trail Mix is held.

This is me with Mark, Maggie, and Becca - all fellow triathletes. You can see downtown in the far horizon. Tac Boy started out with Trimama, then made a cameo appearance (maybe 30 seconds) to run with me, then scooted ahead toward Marz_Racer - not sure if he ever caught him. You sure must have had a lot of social obligations Tac - everybody said you ran with them for a while, before running ahead!

I averaged a little over 10 minute miles, which was good considering it was so hilly. But this was 15 miles, and Wildflower is only 13, so it was good training for that race, which is only a couple weeks away.

The best part - I almost forgot! I got "recognized" by a fellow blogger! Julie was working the volunteer desk at packet pickup... So nice meeting you, Julie! She's the one who runs ultras... ;-)

Being the Super Hero that he is, everyone wants Tac's light to shine with them during their run. How could he let down his faithful fans?!?! lol (he's too humble to admit this)
Glad tohear you all had such a good race!! Sounds like you will be kicking butt at Wildflower!

Now if you are recognized by another ultrarunner, you know you have to get with the scene now..

Great job on the run. It looked so inviting to run out there..

Hi Jenny, great post and I agree with the others in that it sounds as if you are going to do awesome at Wildflower. I also really enjoyed the rest of your blog and where your heart is in all of this. Thanks for stopping by my blog, and I am so glad you enjoyed reading the story about my son ("Did you also scroll down on my blog and read about my daughter's drill team performance?", asked the proud father). lol. Be sure to read The Greatest Marathoner, which is the event that inspired me to create the site.

Hey Jenny -

First - have you ever done Wildflower? I did it last year...tough, tough, tough! I'd be happy to share with you anything you'd like to know about the course (that I can remember!). You will have a blast...it's really like a party weekend!

Additionally, I see Mark is with Aquaphor! Me too! Pretty cool...

I must be in an agreeable mood. :)

I agree with momo - I can't imagine running up and down a ski jump. Yikes! You must have legs of steel!

I also agree with everyone here who says you will kick WF butt!

I apologize for being so brief. I was just too busy trying to flatten the hills with my Tri-jedi mind powers.....did it work?
